Seriosity Named "Cool Vendor" by Leading Analyst Firm
Firms selected for Gartner's "Cool Vendor report" are innovative, impactful and intriguing
Palo Alto, CA, March 20, 2007 - Seriosity, Inc., a developer of innovative enterprise software inspired by multiplayer games, has been named one of Gartner, Inc.'s "Cool Vendors in the High Performance Workplace, 2007" in a report issued March 15, 2007 by Toby Bell, et al.
Seriosity, along with the other vendors highlighted in the report, provides products that "focus on helping people relate to each other better, as well as on information assets", according to Gartner. "The value of the relationship between people and information is most important in the high performance workplace and, by providing better control and context" these products "improve the levels of engagement between customers, co-workers".
"We are excited to have been named to Gartner's 'Cool Vendor' listing and to have received what we think is a prestigious honor," said Seriosity CEO, Ken Ross. "Seriosity's unique approach to email productivity enhancement gets people to think about what's important and what's not, rather than just hitting the 'Reply to All' button. It benefits both sender and receiver across the enterprise."
Seriosity's product, Attent, uses economic, psychological and gaming principles to address the corporate email information overload problem. One global corporate customer has estimated its own annual email overload costs at over $1 billion.
Attent creates a virtual economy with a currency, called Serios, which are allocated periodically to users. Senders attach variable numbers of Serios to email they send, signaling importance. Recipients can prioritize their inboxes based upon Serios which they retain upon receipt and can use for future emails. Attent provides a variety of tools to track and analyze Serio use and the related communication patterns throughout the enterprise.
"The vanishing cost of electronic communication has resulted in an avalanche of email" says Ken Ross. "Attent enables anyone to flag and prioritize new ideas, fostering innovation and creativity in the enterprise while enabling knowledge workers to become more productive, efficient and focused in the workplace."
